Murderous cultists in Tokyo. Kaimei missing. What else can go wrong for the Sweepers?

People are turning up with their throats cut. Could a cult practicing human sacrifice have arrived in Tokyo? And where is Kaimei? Is there a connection between his disappearance and the murders? Issei wants the answers but what he gets are more questions. Can the Sweepers find the cultists, or will Kaimei pay the ultimate price?

“Look out!”
A noise at his back as Tsuki took down another of the drug manufacturers. The sound of a boot to flesh as Arashi took out whoever had been coming up behind him. Everything echoed in the wide-open space of the disused warehouse; disused by any legal activities that was, one corner and an office having been turned into a sophisticated drug manufacturing lab. Sophisticated and easily portable, which was why this particular group had evaded capture before their faces had gone on wanted posters.
Tsuki turned, using the enhanced speed now at his disposal. Speed that came from
a fusion of DNA and nanotechnology: an illegal cocktail of both medical and nanotech resources that had been fused and forced down his throat six months ago. The men who'd done the forcing were both dead, and mourned by nobody.
Arashi was staring at him over another unconscious drug lab worker, his expression angry. So what else was new?
“How many times do I have to tell you to watch your fucking back? You might be faster and stronger, but you're still taking unnecessary risks!”
Tsuki glanced past Arashi to see a man with a large cleaver in his hands creeping up on the redheaded Sweeper. He put one hand on Arashi's shoulder for leverage and leapt, taking the would-be assassin in the chest and knocking all the wind out of him.
“You were saying?”
Arashi's eyes narrowed at him. “Once a brat, always a brat.”
Tsuki grinned. “If you say so. I think that was the last of them.”
Issei was handcuffing another unconscious drug maker on the other side of the warehouse, the fight having spread over most of the large area. Kaimei had his cell phone to his ear as he reported to Shinji, “Yes, all six of them. You want us to trash the place, or do we need the evidence?”
A beatific smile lit the blond Sweeper's features as he received his answer. “Nice that clean-up doesn't get all the fun for a change.” He put the phone away and grinned at the rest of them. “We get to close the place down.”
Tsuki grinned in return and headed for the computer. Within the next five minutes, a nasty little virus would erase all files on how to make this particular designer drug and spread to the systems of anyone trying to download the information. While he worked, the others set about smashing the equipment and tipping the raw materials down the toilet and waste disposal system in the kitchen. It was strange and very disturbing how innocuous and perfectly legal substances
could be
processed into something highly addictive and eventually lethal.
Having done everything in their power to make sure nobody else could take over this particular operation, they dumped their prisoners into the back of their floater van and took them to the authorities.
Loose ends tied up and the reward money on its way to New Broom's bank account, they headed for home. As soon as they entered the house, Arashi proceeded straight for his room, the door closing behind him with a decided snap. Tsuki sighed and shook his head as he toed off his shoes in the hall.
“What bug crawled up his ass this time?” Issei asked.
Tsuki shrugged, but smirked at his partner. “He was so busy lecturing me about watching my ass that I had to save his."
